Can I hire a private car and driver in Cebu for several days?

Yes, that is one of the most common requests we get. You book the number of days you want, keep the same car and driver throughout, and receive one price covering the whole trip rather than a separate quote for each day.

No. This is driver and vehicle only. Most travellers book their own accommodation exactly where they want it and simply tell us the addresses; we plan the driving around them. If it would help, we are happy to say which towns make sensible overnight bases for the route you have in mind.

Your driver sorts his own accommodation near where you are staying, so the car is outside and ready in the morning. The written quote makes clear how that is covered, so it is not something you need to negotiate while you are travelling.

Travellers quite often offer to pay for the driver room and dinner on top, usually because that is how it works elsewhere, and we would rather say plainly that it is already inside the price you agreed than quietly accept it. Our drivers do not collect anything from you on the road - not the overnight, not fuel, not parking. If anything about a particular night looks awkward for the route you have chosen, we raise it in the quote rather than at the hotel.

It depends which direction you go, and the honest answer is usually less than people expect, because Cebu is a long island. As a guide, Cebu City to Oslob is about 117 km and 3-3.5 hours, Oslob across to Moalboal is a further 65-70 km and 2-2.5 hours, and Kawasan Falls is about 120 km from the city. Going north instead, Maya port for Malapascua is about 133 km and 4-4.5 hours. Two or three nights is comfortable for the south coast; trying to do the far south and the far north in the same short trip means most of it is spent driving.

Within reason, yes, and it is one of the main reasons to book this way. Swap the order of stops, add a viewpoint, or drop something and rest instead. Big changes to total distance or an extra day are worth agreeing with us rather than the driver so the price stays as clear as it was at the start.

Yes. Plenty of multi-day trips begin at a ferry pier, such as Liloan (Santander) for arrivals from Dumaguete, or at a hotel, and end at a completely different place from where they started. Tell us both points and we build the days around them.

Choose it by the flight, not by the hotel checkout time. From Moalboal, leave about 7 hours before a domestic departure or about 8 before an international one. From Oslob or Badian, use about 8 hours domestic or 9 international. Those sums already include the slow Cebu City and Mactan approach plus about 3 hours inside the terminal for a domestic flight or 4 for an international one. Worked backwards, an 8:00 AM domestic flight means a 2:00 AM Moalboal pickup or about 1:00 AM from Oslob or Badian, so the calmer plan is to drive north the afternoon before and spend the last night in Cebu City or on Mactan, where the airport run is 15 to 45 minutes. A 5:00 PM domestic can keep Moalboal as the last night with an 11:00 AM pickup, or Oslob or Badian with about 10:00 AM. Send the flight number and every hotel date in the quote request and we build the final day backwards before pricing it.

Our drivers and vehicles work on Cebu, so a multi-day booking covers the Cebu-side driving, including getting you to the right port. If your trip crosses to another island we will say plainly which legs we can cover and which you would arrange separately, rather than leaving it vague in the quote.

Put it in the quote request rather than mentioning it to the driver on the day, and send the children’s ages with rough heights and weights: Philippine law (RA 11229) requires a restraint appropriate to all three, and those numbers decide between an infant carrier, a forward-facing seat and a booster. You are welcome to bring your own seats instead, but tell us, because they still count as luggage when we size the vehicle.

Size it by whichever number is bigger, your headcount or your luggage, and count a child seat as a seat and a pushchair as a bag. A family of four with two child seats, four suitcases and a folded pushchair wants a van rather than a sedan, and on a multi-day trip that matters more than on a single transfer, because the luggage lives in the car between hotels. Also worth knowing before you plan the days: around two hours in one go is the comfortable ceiling for most young children, which is why the far south usually works better broken over two nights than as a day out.

The car-and-driver cost can be shown on its own, separate from what is paid on the ground: entrance, activity, guide and boat fees at the places you stop are set by the operators and the municipalities, are paid locally on the day, and we never mark them up or invent them. We arrange the vehicle, the driver and the time; whatever is sold at a stop is bought at that stop, from the people who run it. On a day like this that is mostly gate entrances and small local hires - the highland viewpoints, Fort San Pedro, a raft or a habal-habal at a waterfall - and none of them take a booking ahead, so there is nothing for us to reserve and nothing for you to hold. If the day grows to include one of the registered activities, the whale sharks at Oslob or canyoneering at Alegria, those are signed up for in person on the day too, by you and not by us, and the useful thing we can do is time the pickup so you reach the desk inside its window rather than after the cut-off.
