How do I get from Oslob to Mactan-Cebu Airport?
Short answer
Mactan-Cebu Airport is about 125 km north of Oslob, roughly 3.5-4 hours by private car. - Apekop asks passengers to be in good physical condition and states that the trip may not be suitable for parents with young children, elderly or pregnant passengers, or people with disabilities. - The 11:30 AM is the plan, not a detail of it. Counted back with our own road times, leaving Moalboal means about 8:00-8:30 AM (2-2.5 hours) and leaving an Oslob hotel is a late breakfast - but Cebu City is 3-3.5 hours and Mactan airport 3.5-4, so from either of those this is a pre-dawn departure to catch a boat that Pier 1 would beat anyway. Miss it and there is no second sailing and no evening boat: the next one is tomorrow morning.
- Where it genuinely wins is Panglao. Momo Beach is already on Panglao, a short hop from Alona, so the crossing delivers you to the island itself - roughly five hours from Moalboal door to Panglao sand. The Pier 1 route is 6-7 hours door to Tagbilaran port and still needs a Bohol-side transfer on top. For Tagbilaran itself, the Chocolate Hills, or anywhere north or east on Bohol, Pier 1 is still the better crossing and we have not changed those pages.
- It is an open-water banca on a single daily sailing, and the operator reserves the right to cancel in bad weather or rough seas. Do not hang a same-day onward flight on it, and in the habagat months have the Pier 1 fallback in mind before you commit. Counters typically close 45 minutes before a domestic departure and 60 minutes before an international one - Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and AirAsia all publish that pair, and Jetstar is tighter still at 40 minutes domestic. Confirm your own airline, because it is the number that ends the trip
- The boarding gate is a third deadline
- Gates close before the aircraft does: 15 minutes ahead of departure on Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines, 20 on AirAsia and Jetstar. Being checked in is not the same as being allowed on - once the gate is shut a boarding pass does not reopen it

- Terminal 2 for every international flight, Terminal 1 for every domestic one. They are separate buildings, so tell your driver the flight rather than "the airport" - being dropped at the wrong one costs you time you budgeted for the road

Whatever is sold at the far end is bought there: whale-shark watching is registered in person at the Oslob desk and cannot be booked ahead by us or by anyone, canyoneering is booked on the day with the licensed Alegria operators, and falls entrances and the Moalboal environmental fee are paid at the gate. The exception is Sumilon, where the day-use pass must be reserved with the resort before you travel. So the thing worth getting right in the quote is the arrival time rather than a reservation, and that is the part we plan. How much notice do you need - can I book this for tomorrow?
Usually yes. There is no minimum notice on this route and no cut-off hour, so a request for tomorrow, or for later today, is worth sending rather than writing off. What settles it is whether a vetted driver is free for the time you need, and you will have the answer and the price by email the same day, usually within a few hours. A very early start is routine here rather than a complication. The part that gets harder with less notice is choice - holding a particular vehicle size or an exact pickup hour - not whether the journey can happen, so send the date and, if the timing is tight, the hour you need to be moving.
Do I pay anything up front, and when do I pay the rest?

We fit child seats, but they are arranged in advance rather than carried as standard, so arrivals is the worst place to find out one is missing. Philippine law (RA 11229) sets the requirement by height rather than age: a child needs a restraint until they reach 150 cm, and the seat has to suit their age, height and weight, so one generic seat does not cover a family of different sizes. It also changes which vehicle meets you, because a child seat occupies a seat and a folded stroller travels as luggage - a family of four with two seats and a pushchair wants a van rather than a sedan even though it is only four people. You are welcome to bring your own seat and it still counts as luggage when we size the vehicle.
