How do I get from Oslob to Dumaguete?
Short answer
Oslob is the closest of Cebu’s big southern stops to Negros, which is why so many travellers do the whale sharks at dawn and are in Dumaguete for lunch. You carry on south along the same coastal highway to Liloan port at Santander, Cebu’s southern tip - about 30 to 35 km and roughly 45 minutes to an hour from Oslob town, and shorter again if you are starting from Tan-awan where the whale-shark boats go out. From there a short fast craft crosses the strait to Sibulan, the port beside Dumaguete on Negros.

Yes. Both sit within a few kilometres of Oslob, so they are easy to build in before the run south to the port - the usual pattern is whale sharks at first light, Tumalog Falls straight after, then the drive to Liloan. Say so in the quote request and we will allow the time for it.

Is it better to go back to Cebu City and fly?
Almost never, for Dumaguete. Oslob is already three quarters of the way down the island, so returning to Cebu City means roughly 117 km back north before you start. Dumaguete has its own airport if you are flying onward, but for reaching the city itself the southern crossing is far quicker.
