How do I get from Moalboal to Liloan Port (Santander) for the Negros ferry?
Short answer
Moalboal to Liloan port at Santander is about 70 km straight back down Cebu’s west coast - 2 to 2.5 hours by private car through Badian, Alegria, Malabuyoc, Ginatilan, Samboan and Bato. Liloan is where the boats leave for Sibulan, the port beside Dumaguete, and it is the standard way off the island for anyone carrying on to Negros, Apo Island or Siquijor without backtracking to Cebu City.

Can I get from Moalboal to Dumaguete in one day?
Comfortably. Allow roughly 3 to 3.5 hours door to door: 2 to 2.5 hours to Liloan, a 20-to-30-minute crossing, then 15 to 20 minutes from Sibulan into Dumaguete. A morning start from Moalboal generally means lunch on Negros.
Is Liloan the right port if I am going to Siquijor?
It is the usual one. You cross to Sibulan, go round to Dumaguete port, and take a fast craft on to Siquijor - about 45 minutes to an hour, landing at Siquijor town port or Larena. That is two timed crossings after a two-hour drive, so it is worth having the road leg timed properly rather than hoping.
Should I cross at Bato instead?
Possibly, if you are heading further up the Negros coast - Bato (Samboan) is on this same road, about half an hour before Liloan, and crosses to Tampi. We have not verified that crossing’s current timetable the way we have Liloan-Sibulan, so we do not print times for it. For Dumaguete itself, Liloan lands you closest.
