How do I get from Bohol to Moalboal?

No. All Bohol sailings land on Cebu’s east side - Tagbilaran to Cebu City Pier 1 is the crossing nearly everyone uses - and Moalboal is on the west coast, about 90 km away by road. The trip is always ferry plus a road leg.

Allow 6-7 hours port to door: about 2 hours on the fast ferry from Tagbilaran to Pier 1, then 2.5-3 hours by private car from the pier down to Moalboal, plus check-in and the handoff at the terminal.

An early or mid-morning one. It puts you at Pier 1 with the whole afternoon for the drive, and gets you to Moalboal in daylight. A late-afternoon crossing means finishing the west-coast road after dark, which is doable but a poor first impression of the coast.

Give us your sailing details in the quote request and we track the arrival. Sea crossings slip, and the point of booking the road leg in advance is that someone is still standing at Pier 1 when you walk off.

The snorkelling itself carries a small municipal environmental user fee charged by Moalboal and paid locally in cash.

Yes - we meet your ferry at the pier and drive you back to Bohol, the same road leg in reverse. The crossing stays your own booking, as on the way out. Ask for both legs in one quote request and we price them together. If the way back ends somewhere other than where you started, say where in the Anything else? box on the quote form and we quote that leg instead of the reverse of this one.

The quote is one fixed all-in price for the private vehicle leg, agreed in writing before you travel, and fuel, tolls and parking are inside it - along with any waiting time or extra stops you tell us about when you ask. Because this trip involves a sea crossing, the ferry or boat ticket is not in that figure unless we have set it out for you: tell us your crossing and we will say plainly what we are quoting for and what you book yourself. Entrance and activity fees at anywhere you stop, and your meals, are paid locally.

Your driver meets the boat rather than the clock. He waits at the terminal with your name on a board, takes the luggage as you come out, and you walk to the car and leave; if the crossing runs late the pickup moves with it. The part worth knowing in advance is that it is the arrivals hall or the terminal gate he meets you at, not the gangway - the bags are yours between the boat and the building, and the porters working that stretch are local rather than ours. The drive, the driver and the waiting time are ours and they are in the quote. Whatever is sold at the far end is bought there: whale-shark watching is registered in person at the Oslob desk and cannot be booked ahead by us or by anyone, canyoneering is booked on the day with the licensed Alegria operators, and falls entrances and the Moalboal environmental fee are paid at the gate. The exception is Sumilon, where the day-use pass must be reserved with the resort before you travel. So the thing worth getting right in the quote is the arrival time rather than a reservation, and that is the part we plan. Usually yes. There is no minimum notice on this route and no cut-off hour, so a request for tomorrow, or for later today, is worth sending rather than writing off. What settles it is whether a vetted driver is free for the time you need, and you will have the answer and the price by email the same day, usually within a few hours. A very early start is routine here rather than a complication. The part that gets harder with less notice is choice - holding a particular vehicle size or an exact pickup hour - not whether the journey can happen, so send the date and, if the timing is tight, the hour you need to be moving.

Nothing to ask for a quote. Once you are happy with the price it is two steps, not a choice between two: a booking fee paid online (card, bank transfer or GCash) confirms the trip and is what gets you your written confirmation, then the balance goes directly to your driver at the end of the journey.
