Between Argao and Oslob, the east-coast towns protect small reefs in community marine sanctuaries that you reach from the shore: the Alcoy sanctuary and the Mabad-on tidal reef in Alcoy, and the Granada sanctuary in Boljoon. Expect easy shallow snorkelling and diving rather than big-name sites. Alcoy is about 95 km and 3-4 hours from Cebu City.
The Argao reefs were reported badly damaged in 2020, so we do not send divers there without newer evidence.
