Osmeña Peak - Cebu’s highest summit

Osmeña Peak, above Mantalongon in Dalaguete, is the highest point in Cebu and one of its most photogenic - a ridge of jagged, grassy “shark-tooth” hills with views down to the sea on both sides. It’s about 100 km south of the city, and despite the dramatic scenery the actual hike from the trailhead is short and beginner-friendly.

Dry season (roughly February-May) for clear summit views; arrive before dawn for sunrise. Bring a light layer - it’s cool up top.

Most visitors come for sunrise, when the peaks catch the light and the air is cool. By private car it’s roughly a 2.5-3 hour drive to the Mantalongon area, after which a brief walk (often with a local guide) brings you to the summit. It pairs naturally with Kawasan Falls or Oslob for a big south-Cebu day.
