Osmeña Peak, above Mantalongon in Dalaguete, is the highest point in Cebu and one of its most photogenic - a ridge of jagged, grassy “shark-tooth” hills with views down to the sea on both sides. It’s about 100 km south of the city, and despite the dramatic scenery the hike from the Mantalongon jump-off is short - roughly 700 m and 20-30 minutes each way - though it is a genuine walk on uneven ground rather than a viewpoint you drive to.

The natural same-day swap is the Mantalongon highland market on the plateau below it, one of the biggest vegetable markets in the central Visayas and busiest before dawn, which the car reaches directly and which suits the same early start.
